Almost Famous, starring MrMead

Tuesday evening I was on KGW, briefly, repping PCS on a Christmas Carol promo. Here it is, if you're interested. I am not. Interested in seeing it. Ever ever. I'd rather be waterboarding than listening to the sound of my own voice, much less seeing my mouth acting in concert with it.

Sounds like vanity, I know, but really it's more like a self-esteem issue. As long as I'm not confronted with hard evidence to the contrary, I can go around town assuming I look like this.

But it takes only one errant glance into a reflective storefront window to be reminded that I actually look more like this.

Capisce?

Nevertheless, here's the clip, if you dare:

I laughed outloud! No, not at the interview, it was lovely. NO, this post just tickled my funny bone. And oh, how my bones need a little tickling these days. (now, now, get your mind out of the gutter... those bones are just fine.) Oh, lord I'm blushing now!

I've missed your posts. Glad you're back!

I dared to witness, and not only did I think you did a bang-up job, but I'm also ready to go buy a Ford from Dick McKenzie's Ford. (They probably change the commercial that runs before the piece, so that comment won't make any sense to anybody).

That's excellent! Even makes ME want to see it. (Promise me shirtless guys, and I'm flying up.)

Is that an Omega you're sporting, Mead? It goes with the simple cufflinks. Well done.

But you DO look like that, Mead. Everyone knows it. There are Daniel Craig sightings being reported all over the Pearl.

oh and...great job! Last time I got caught on a news camera it was coming out of the movie theatre alone on Christmas Day having just seen Dreamgirls...yeah, that's mortifying. And they aired it.

I think you look great as ever.

Oh, Dr.Fun, I think you should be the next Bond. As long as your martinis are made of gin, not vodka.

Quel horreur! But of course, Cynthia -- Bombay Sapphire all the way. Although I bet you could suggest some local gins that could convert me? So long as the juniper is pronounced, I'm a happy tippler.
